Taxing Day

An attorney got home late one evening after a very taxing day trying to get a stay of execution for a client, named Wilbur Wright, who was due to be hanged for murder at midnight. His last minute plea for clemency to the governor had failed and he was feeling tired and depressed. As soon as he got through the door his wife started on about, "What time of night do you call this? Where have you been?" ... and on and on.

Too shattered to play his usual role in this familiar ritual, he went and poured himself a very large whisky and headed off for a long hot soak in the bathtub ... pursued by the predictable sarcastic remarks.

While he was in the bath the phone rang, which the wife answered and was told that her husband's client had been granted his stay of execution after all. Realizing what a day he must have had, she relented a little and went upstairs to give him the good news.

As she opened the bathroom door she was greeted by the sight of her husband's rear view as he bent over naked drying his legs and feet.
"They're not hanging Wright tonight," she said. The attorney whirled around and screamed hysterically, "For crying out loud woman, don't you ever stop?"

Taxing day - that is very funny.

La Marina urbanisation is really like most places - you need to pick the restaurants you eat and drink in if you do not wish to be ripped off. We usually go for the menu del dia. One particular restaurant we go is only 10 euros each. You get bread/ali oli, soup or salad or croquettes as Starters, main meal (good choice), pud or coffee plus a bottle of wine between 2 persons. SO, that's really good !! We went there on Friday evening (Satellite Sports Centre) and Michael Star was entertaining.

Hi Patti,
The meal last night was fantastic and the atmosphere was excellent. Every table was taken so would suggest booking a place before you go. We had the 4 course menu de la noche. The four of us had a variety of different choices but I had sardines to start with, for the main I had fusilli pasta with panchetta in a tomato based sauce, dessert was a lovely homemade almond cake and we finished this with a coffee at the end. Plus we had at least 3 drinks each all for a fantastic price of 57 euros. The 4 courses are 12.50 per person. Great and very enjoyable evening. I am positive you will enjoy it Patti. Let us know your feedback.
